Reference: My Trip to Thailand

 Quentin Brown

Well I have finanly arrived back from Thailand where we have set up our new company Global Internet Systems. We have interviewed some of the orphans and getting ready to sign off on the property we want. There are some pictures below.

The memberships are going quickly and we have some left and most have been picked up by small businesses wanting to access our services. Anyhow let me tell you a little more about my trip.

We arrived in Bangkok on the Thursday after a 9 hour flight and I had to wiat 2 hours for my partner to fly in from Sydney. Our driver picked us up and we got a good nights sleep before hitting the road. Picked up a new sim for my mobile and then meeting after meeting for about 5 days.

This is atop our new building we are hoping to get and you can see Pattaya in the background. The buildings there for business are usually between 3 and 5 stories as you will see in the photo to the left which is just perfect for this new business. We have chosen a unit on the side to get the views and also lots of natural light. This will be our computer room where lots of the work will take place.

We are setting up stratergies that will make us a key player in the online market and you have an exclusive invitation to join with us on the ground floor. We have already helped a number of offline and online businesses make their products and services stand out from the crowd and now we are ready to multiply this out many times over. Please visit http://www.msifoundation.com for more information.

They use bikes for just about everything

The food was simply amazing if you like Thai

Fruit was very cheap and very tasty

A famous Internet Marketer lives there

So the project is well on the way and next month we will keep you updated but revert to our normal newsletter format. Just remember if you are wanting to start your own Internet Marketing Business this is a great deal. For just $2100 you will get products, coaching and all our help till December 2007. By this time you should be well on your way to a great online business and hopefully we will be great friends and doing lots of joint ventures etc together.

This is my life!

SPECIAL OF THE WEEK - Free Adwords eBook

One of the keys to my success online is the use of Google adwords.
If you're not familiar with Google Adwords, you should be! It's a type
of pay-per-click advertising program to promote your site(s). You create
your own ads, choose your keywords -- and best of all -- you only pay
when someone clicks your ad! Go to:
http://www.google.com/adwords
if you'd like more info on the Adwords program.
The eBook is called "Maximum Effect" (383kb), and I got my hands on
a copy that I can share with you...

  COACHING - Composer

Hello and welcome to this weeks coaching. A special welcome to all our new members.

This month we look at Frames.

We would not usually use frames on a front page as they are not really search engine friendly however if you want to do some heavy community or information sites they can be very effective in allowing people to naviagte easily through information. Just set them up in another section of your site and direct people to the page.

Frames are a very good tool if you have a lot of different information to supply. It is important to remember, however, that you are entering into an area that requires quite a lot of organization and skill if you are relying on html to produce the frames. I would suggest if you are going to use frames to get a copy of Front Page, Sothing from last month or a similar program that will do a lot of the html for you.

What frames do, is give you two or three different areas on your screen, in which to put information. Each frame is built as a separate web page and then combined into one page. There are some basic rules governing frames which need to be followed.

The Rules for frames

Frames differ from tables in that when you scroll down in one frame the other frames stay constant. They are used especially when people need to use a frame for lots of navigation and there is a relatively complex navigation structure.

In the diagram below we have set up an example of how your page would look. You would not necessarily have the borders shown but I have left them in for ease of explanation. On the left side you would need to build your web page to take up a narrower space and this is usually where you put your index. Even when you scroll down the page in the centre frame the side and top frame will stay set. It is also a good rule to try and not have scrolling on the side and top frame as it tends to look messy. For this reason it takes quite a lot of testing to develop a neat page that uses frames.

Frame 1

Top Frame

Target Frame

A great example of how to use frames is a customer who has used it for audio. He has his albums in the 1st frame and then all the songs of that album in the target frame. When the viewer clicks on the audio it actually opens in the top frame allowing them to look at other pages while listening to the music in the top frame.

By clicking on a link in Frame 1 or Top Frame you can open up the web page in the Target Frame. This is an important concept and skill to learn as you don't want the side frame to open a new page, because you will only be able to see a very small area of the whole page. The top frame is usually used for a logo or special message.

Frames Examples

Here is another nice frame. and tutorial.

As I mentioned before it can be quite a complicated process and so I am not going to cover it here. If you want to learn more I have put two excellent links to simple tutorials on frames.

The first is by Dan Brown. Go there now.

The second is by Charlton D. Rose, a.k.a. "Sharky" graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master's degrees in Computer Science. You should have a look at this site as it is a lot of fun and a good read as well. You can get there here.

Again you can make frames in Sothink editor.

  FEATURE ARTICLE - Video Streaming

Video Ads Are Streaming In
› › ›   Advertising/Marketing

By Rebecca Lieb

Streaming video ads and sponsorships number over 1 billion served each month, according to a new AccuStream iMedia Research report.

The report, "Streaming Video Avails 2000-2005: Inventory History and Growth By Site," details 2005 streaming video ad initiatives and formats across sites with streaming advertising, as well as site-by-site streaming video usage and trends over several years.

Sites analyzed include America Online, Yahoo!, MSN Video, StupidVideos.com, ESPN.com, FOXNews.com, FOXSports.com, IFILM, and Feedroom.

"Video avails have continued to grow as the broadband Internet has matured," said Paul Palumbo, AccuStream research director. "In addition, many top streaming media sites are owned by major media brands (Time Warner, Yahoo!, Disney, Microsoft/NBC), which puts them squarely in line to benefit from a new broadband component to on-air television buys."

The report found preroll streaming advertising is the most widely used, as well as the most demanded by advertisers and agencies. CPMs (define) range from $20 to $50 and up for highly targeted demographics.

Sponsorships are most popular on TV broadcasters' Web sites, such as CBSNews.com, BET.com, and FOXNews.com. "A significant number of sites owned by major media brands that experimented with streaming video advertising in 2000 and 2001, and then moved behind subscription services, reemerged as ad-supported content sites in 2004 and 2005," Palumbo added.

Though subscribers to paid streaming sites typically view more streams per month, sites with ad or sponsorship models are increasing stream counts at a faster rate.

MSI Web Video

MSN Video's rapid growth and ad-supported model is an example of streaming video growth. Since the program's launch in February 2004, ad streams more than doubled to over 70.29 million by March 2005. Traffic was robust as well, growing from 4.5 million unique visitors in February 2004 to over 7 million in March 2005. Much of that growth is attributed to promotion on the main MSN site and partnerships with brand-name content providers, including Fox Sports, Major League Baseball, NBC, and MSNBC.

PS: Note that most references are to large corporate sites. This is because the perception is that video is very expensive however you can use the MSI Web Video entry level software for under $50.
